Buyers are returning to the market

There are clear signs from how busy we have become this month that buyers are returning to the market. We have had a record start to April with £3m of property going under offer. It seems now that it’s clear that we won’t be leaving the EU, at least not in any meaningful sense, and that politicians will be still talking about it forever rather than making a decision, that people have decided to get on with their lives and make the move they have been putting off for 6 months. The TV agents with their up-front fees and pared back service delivery are finding that as the market gets tougher, the need for quality service just gets greater. Interesting new research has shown that in recent months the market share of the TV estate agents has peaked and is now in decline. It seems that their model of up-front fees and minimal service delivery has struggled as the market conditions have got tougher – not surprising as it’s in these conditions that sellers need genuine expertise from their agent and a proper level of service to ensure that a sale gets through all the legal loopholes and actually exchanges and completes.
